A Bad Day!

So yesterday was one of those days where i should have just stayed in bed.. Mr R too!

After Mr R found the salt and pepper shakers, and tasted them, he face planted the floor in the lounge room... By accident!
He has carpet burn and bruises on his cheek and under his left eye.

Mr R screamed and cried hysterically for over an hour... Non. Stop!

Nothing worked in trying to calm him down, i just had to hold him tight and try my best to comfort him.
Lucky for me Miss R slept through the whole thing!

When Mr R finally calmed down and fell asleep in my arms i put him down on his little couch bed and let him sleep.

I walked away long enough to put a load of clothes on the clothes line and when i came back inside to check on him, i found him still asleep but his face in a pool of blood from his nose!

So of course i had to wake him up to try and clean up all the blood, as soon as i woke him he then started screaming and crying again..

Miss R woke up, so then i was trying to feed Miss R her bottle while trying to cuddle and comfort Mr R..... GAH!!!

About 3 hours after all this happened, he slipped off one of his little chairs backwards landing on his back and banging the back of his head into the wall.

- Haha but wait, there is more... That is not the end of it!

Last night at Nanny's he slammed his head into the back of her armchair, leaving another bruise on his forehead!

To say the very least i think he may be been disorientated from the face plant this morning!

To top off this fantastic day... Hubby was at work and missed all the action!

So trying to deal with a blood nose from Mr R and feeding Miss R on my own was great fun.. An absolute blast actually!

Mr R... A Funny Little Kid!

Mr R has had an interesting morning this morning! - Testing out his taste buds...
He climbed up on one of the chairs at the tea table and found himself the salt and pepper shakers!

I was in the kitchen and didn't realise what he had done until i heard him coughing and gagging...
I have to admit, i laughed and asked him 'does it taste good? Do you like it?'
- He answered with 'no' :P

I gave him some orange juice mixed with water - not sure if it did anything for the taste in his mouth but, oh well what can you do!?

Yesterday Mr R had his first 'accident' on the carpet. I had just got him out of the shower, and asked him to go to the lounge room so we could put a nappy on.
Mr R ran from the bathroom still naked... I stopped for less than a minute to pick up the clothes and wet nappy off the bathroom floor when i heard a twinkle noise!

I really hoped he made it as far as the floor boards in the kitchen, but when i came out of the bathroom i had discovered he had gone on the carpet in the hallway... 1 metre short of the floor boards in the kitchen!!

Mr R told me there was 'water' on the floor and ran off to the lounge room.
I put some paper towel on it to try and soak most of it up, then wiped the carpet over with some warm water and a cloth.
It doesn't smell this morning but i can definitely see where he went as our carpet is a cream/white colour!

Happy Wife, Happy Life - Isn't That What They Say!?

Nothing overly exciting to blog about today..

In between dealing with the needs of Hubby, Mr R and Miss R, I'm super busy trying to scrub and clean the house, from top to bottom.

Hubby has started painting the laundry and the en-suite at the same time.. - Um, hello!? Do you think you could finish one room first and then move to the next one!?
I'm so sick of half finished jobs around the place!
'Yeah, just leave it there, I'll get to that' - I hear this every time i go to move something to be able to get to something else and I'm over it.
As Kim (Kath & Kim) would say - 'Over - O.V.A.H' :P

I'm searching realestate.com everyday trying to find a new place as we REALLY want to move. This place is just too small, i can't swing a cat let alone two kids!
- Joking! I wouldn't really swing the kids!

I would like to move out of Tassie, but at the moment it's just not possible.
So instead Hubby and I have made a list of all the things we want in the next place -
  • 3-4 Bedrooms
  • Double drive way (We both hate playing musical cars)
  • Garage (For storage)
  • Child friendly yard
  • Low maintenance garden
  • Preferably carpet in the bedrooms only
  • Kitchen with plenty of bench and cupboard space
  • Flat ground (Easy access for my MIL)
  • Bathroom has to have a bath (This place didn't have one until Hubby put one in)
  • Open plan
  • Last by not least - SPACE!

Too fussy!?
Well to be honest, the only way i think i'd be happy with everything is to build a house... However, money doesn't permit for that! Poo!

Oh, and did i mention, we have to try and find all that within our budget!!!???

I would really like for Mr R to be able to get outside and play.
Where we're living now isn't child friendly, there aren't any gates at the sides of the house to stop Mr R from running onto the road, the only fence is the boundry fence.

The concrete slab out the back has a nice big drop off the end of it :/
Plus there isn't anywhere flat for him to learn to ride a bike. As Miss R gets older, i'm going to have the same issues with her.

Anyway, everyone is asleep in my house at the moment so i'm going to go and make the most of it!!

Rant – Vent – Whatever!

So today I sent Hubby out to take 2 books back to the library – 1 of which I didn’t even start and the other one only just… I had 3 weeks on loan and couldn’t find enough time to sit down and read them, and to say the least, it pissed me off!!!!

Everyday is very much the same. When Mr R has his day sleep, I use that time to work through the pile of clothes etc on the laundry floor or work my way through the ironing basket.
Before I know it, it’s time to start the ‘ready for bed routine’ with Mr R.
Once I put him to bed, I get about 1 minute to breath and have quiet time while walking back up the hallway…

Hubby heads off to bed between 7.30-8.30pm and I then start another feed for Miss R, followed by a nappy change and getting her settled for bed.
By the time I get Miss R down for the night I usually find it’s somewhere between 10.30-11.30pm – and I am totally exhausted and go to bed.

I stay at home most of the time as it’s just easier and it’s my comfort zone…
I don’t have to talk to anyone if I don’t want to and I don’t have to get out of my pj’s if I don’t want to.
Actually, wait on, I’ll be honest about the pj’s bit… I can’t be bothered getting out of them!!

It’s even to the point I can’t be bothered going out into the ‘real world’ (outside the front door of my house) to get the mail out of the mailbox!

When I wake up to the sound of Mr R in the baby monitor of a morning, I feel like I’ve only had 5 minutes sleep all night.
I generally try to ignore him for 5 minutes and I roll over.
Then I hear ‘mummy’….. ‘mummy’… ‘mummy’.. ‘MUMMY!’
So I get out of my nice warm comfortable bed and go into Mr R. He always greets me with ‘hello dar-nan’ (darling) and then ‘so cool!’

So anyway, tonight is no exception – My eyeballs are hanging out of my head and I feel like my life couldn’t be any easier but at the same time not sure how I would cope if it was any harder!

Sorry about my whinge session, but I’m done now…

Miss R is in Zzzz land now which means bed time for me too!

I highly doubt I will even feel my head hit the pillow!

A day at home... *Bliss*

So today i've set a few goals to actually get me motivated -

1 - Iron all the clothes on our bedroom floor that have been sitting there for 2 weeks+!! Hubby started calling it the 'floordrobe' :/

2 - Vacuum the whole house... Not just the lounge and kitchen like i usually do!

3 - Cook a yummy roast lamb and veggies for tea.

4 - Bath little Miss R as she smells of vomit from 3.30am this morning - *Note - I was NOT bathing her at that time of the morning!

5 - Set up bedroom for Mr R again

Hubby has been painting our house here and there over the last 6 months and finally Mr R's room is done. Now i can get in there and set it up again, as he's been in Miss R's room for the last month and Miss R has been in the lounge room.
Both now have a feature wall with 3 white walls (Yay!).

Hubby is now in bed catching up on some sleep as he works 2am-7.30am 7 days a week.
He doesn't usually go to bed until 8.30pm of a night... Guess it makes for a long day!
(No days off except for Christmas Day unless he takes it off in which its unpaid)

So while he sleeps its 'blog' time!

This morning i was interrupted by bible bashers at my door - Gah! Go. Away. I am REALLY not INTERESTED... Got it!!?? Hmmm :/
Now i'm wondering if i can buy a little sign like the 'No Junk Mail' signs i see on mail boxes!?
Prehaps a visit to the hardware store needs to be added to my list of goals today...

6 - Send Hubby to the hardware store for 'bible bashers go away' sign!

Haha... DON'T knock on my door again!! :D..... Please.... Thank you!

Mr R is at Nanny's for the weekend so just for a few minutes my house is quiet!
It. Is. Wonderful. :D

The reason i say a few minutes is because Miss R is in her swing and she only lasts a few minutes in it and she's bored... Boo hoo! Try cat napping Miss R, it will do you good!

Hmmmm my yummy roast lamb smells delish!! It breaks the smell of the paint that lingers in the house from down the hallway.

Given the door on the hallway and our bedroom have been taken off for painting, i can hear Hubby snoring from my computer in the lounge room... There goes the few minutes of quiet i was talking about!

We are on toilet alert here at the moment as Hubby took that door off too... They are all down stairs under the house being painted... Now when one of us can hear the other one walking down the hallway you very quickly yell out 'Hang on, i'm on the toilet'...

Whoo hoo, i've just turned the computer chair around to find Miss R has her eyes closed!!!
Score!!! :D

Best be off now or i won't be getting all of my goal list achieved for the day! ;)

New to the ‘blog’ world

Well… Firstly I should probably start with hello…       Hello!

Secondly, I’m new, repeat *new* to the whole blog thingy, so I can’t really promise it will be worth your time reading it. But, once I post it, I really won’t care! :P

Anywayz -

I’m mum to my 2 year old toddler, Mr R and to my 3 month old baby, Miss R.

Hubby and I have been married for 3 and half years, but for my poor Hubby it feels more like 10 years! Poor guy, his wrinkles have definitely become deeper in the 5 years we’ve been together… Oh well, its all part of aging I guess!?

Oh I should probably mention there is quite an age difference between Hubby and I.
Now you’re probably thinking ‘what sort of an age difference’… Ahhh, well… that’s for me to know and you to find out!

Haha just joking! There is 20+ years between us… So NOW you’re probably thinking ‘my dear god, how old are these two!?’ would I be right??

So as you can imagine, this caused a major issue with my mother… She HATES that we are together for these two reasons – 1, she wanted him… and 2, our age difference.
* Note - I’m pretty confident that it’s more so reason number 1…

Hubby also has two kids to a previous marriage, Miss Z and Mr Z.

I'm sitting here eating chocolate and thinking I’m suppose to be dropping weight not stacking it on… I’m also thinking how sweet it would be to win the $40 million last night!! :D

I would so be moving out of Tassie and starting fresh, elsewhere, I don’t care where!

Also just to clear up why I’m up at this hour of the morning – its not because I wanted to lose my ever so needed sleep to post this, its actually because one of my baby monitors was singing out to me, to the sound of Miss R. It sounded something like this, ‘get up, I need milk, now!’ – Result, she’s now asleep in my arms…

So this is just a little bit about me… Hoping you’ve actually managed to read this far and haven’t yawned and fallen asleep in front of your computer! :P
